A mix up in reservations landed us at Rome and Fig last night. It was a perfect mistake. We got to sit at the friendly and talentedly tended bar, eat some great food, and even meet one of the owners, Kristine Zostant.

Chef/owner Christina Theofilos is second generation Greek American, born and raised in Tampa with an intense passion for great service and special food. psomi is her first big foray into the culinary world, and boy did she land it! The interior of the restaurant is stunning. It is a well-appointed modern and airy space with simple and refined food to match.
Rocca- It's Pretty Much a Must-Try
The Chef-owned Italian eatery Rocca opened in 2019 and quickly became a trendy spot in the ever-growing Tampa Heights neighborhood. It has a young and modern vibe, with a crowd noise and music level to match

South Tampa has a new option when it comes to breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Himes Breakfast House opened at the end of 2021 taking over the spot of the former Potbellies Family Restaurant after the proprietors decided to move to Tennessee. Shells Seafood owner John Christen purchased and rehabbed the quaint 2500 sq. ft. eatery

After months of teasing with kraft paper covering the windows, District South Kitchen and Craft opened its doors last week. I don't usually tap eateries within the first few weeks, trying to give them a chance to get on their feet. But this kitchen is captained by Cody Tiner who has been at the helm of several spots including Piquant and most recently CW Gin Joint
